Inspired from the Delhi’s
odd-even traffic plan, Dehradun is set to implement similar type of plan in
Dalanwala area, Uttarakhand. The plan is implemented by the local residents of Dalanwala who faces a lot of problems while going through Dalanwala’s Inder road.
Inder Road
is very congested road in Dalanwala area because there so many coaching
classes, offices, hospitals, pharmacists, etc. which ultimately made people to
park their vehicles roadside, that too on the both sides of the road. Since
roads get narrowed by parking, it became very difficult for people to move from
the road seamlessly.
With this new odd-even parking scheme, people are allowed to
park their vehicle on left side of the road on odd dates and on right side of
the road on even dates. The plan enables the pedestrian as well as riders to
pass through the road easily.
People outside the Dalanwala area also praised the concept.
With the implementation of this idea, one side of the road gets vacant and
people can pass though the road easily. The local residents are raising
awareness by placing sign board on both side of the road.
